Are you an artist? Are you interested in the creative process? Would you like a better understanding of the role of art in redemption? Does the idea of our creative expression reflecting our being made in God’s image interest you?

Please come join us for a Saturday conversation and exploration of this important area of thought and artistic appreciation. And if you are an artist, we want to encourage you in your work.

The cost is one of those truly great values that comes along on rare occasions. It is Free, but there is one catch-you have to register online in advance of the event to receive a free lunch. Courtesy of the wonderful folks at First EV Free.

Featured speakers include:
David Taylor, Arts Pastor of Hope Chapel and Artistic Advisor to the Institute. His talk will be titled The Reconstructive Role of Beauty in Our Public Life.

David is well known in the area for his insight into Christian aesthetics and his role as a caring leader in the Christian arts community. He is increasingly becoming known beyond our area for his articles in Christianity Today and other publications, as well as courses taught at Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry and other locations. He is a graduate of Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Sandra BowdenSandra Bowden, President of Christians in the Visual Arts (CIVA), will speak on “The Role of CIVA in Christendom". She will also give a Gallery Talk and Tour of her work, which will be in a solo display in the Visual Arts Ministry Gallery at First EV Free.

LL Larry Linenschmidt, Executive Director of The Hill Country Institute for Contemporary Christianity, will speak on the Institute’s vision for supporting and encouraging Christian artists in the area.

There will be panel discussions to comment on David’s keynote address and lots of opportunity to interact with other artists.
