Finding God at Harvard and in
the Hill Country
Kelly Monroe Kullberg
Kelly Monroe Kullberg arrived
at Harvard University as a graduate scholar in the Divinity School. She
found a willingness to accept virtually any form of religious
expression -- except orthodox Christianity. She recognized in the way
they avoided the name of Jesus there was an understanding of the
potential power and life changing relationship that could be known in
Him:
"Those
who believed in Jesus were considered quaint at best, enemies at
worst. But when I first heard people say 'the J word' instead of
'Jesus,' refusing to use the name that holds power, I knew they were
nervous about him--that he might become a real live issue once again.
Many wanted to keep that possibility at bay. A living Jesus would
threaten the prevailing relativism and deconstructionism, as well as
the politics of money, sex, and power."
Kelly went on to become a University Chaplain at Harvard and led the
first Veritas Forum in the early 1990’s. Since that start,
which featured Ravi Zacharias as a guest speaker and lively interchange
with students, the Veritas Forum has grown to include appearances on
campuses around the United States.
Kelly is the author of Finding God at Harvard and finding God Beyond
Harvard: The Quest for Veritas. Identified in 1996 as one of
Christianity Today's leading evangelic leaders under the age of 40,
Kelly is gentle, dynamic, and fun! This is a rare opportunity to
interact with her in a small group setting and to hear stories about
how students and professors have been impacted by the Veritas Forum
For additional information on the Veritas Forums, please visit http://www.veritas.org/index.html
We look forward to seeing you at one or both of these events with one
of God’s most enthusiastic and active leaders. Believe me --
she has great stories to tell.
