Theological Reflections on Genesis I
"Theological Reflections on Genesis I" aims to resolve tensions between our understanding of reality through the Bible and human investigation. Crux exegetical issues of Genesis 1, such as the meanings of "create" and "day" will be defined. Notice will be taken of agreements and disagreements between Scripture and human investigation. To resolve their disagreements, it will be proposed that the Biblical literature is historically conditioned, is narrative (i.e., a mixture of history and plot), represents God figuratively and is influenced by the cosmology of the Biblical world.
